PROGRAM 1 - upriver (BKKMK1 / BKKMP1): BANGKOK - AYUTHAYA BY BOAT / RETURN BY COACH

• BANGKOK - MEKHALA ON THE RIVER (-/-/D)

DAY 01 Pick up at your hotel in Bangkok and transfer to the embarkation pier. Board the Mekhala, 14:30 hrs commence the cruise from Bangkok by the “Legendary River Cruiser Mekhala”, cruising up the Chao Phraya River with spectacular views of the Grand Palace and the Temple of Dawn. Just after sunset, the Mekhala docks at Wat Kai Tia, a temple set in a tranquil rural village. An exquisite candlelight dinner of mouth-watering Thai cuisine is served on the deck. Overnight on board in your air-conditioned cabin.

• MEKHALA - AYUTHAYA – BANGKOK (B/L/-)

DAY 02 Breakfast on board and depart Wat Kai Tia to Bang-Pa-In, where you will visit King Rama V’s Summer Palace, which represents a fine example of Thai architecture. Continue by long-tail boat to the ancient capital of Ayuthaya. After lunch at local restaurant, visit the idyllic ruins of the once glorious capital destroyed by the Burmese. Late afternoon transfer back to your hotel in Bangkok by air-conditioned minibus.
 

PROGRAM 2 -downriver (BKKMK2 / bkkmp2): BANGKOK - AYUTHAYA BY BUS / RETURN BY BOAT

• BANGKOK – AYUTHAYA - MEKHALA (-/L/D)

DAY 01 Depart from your hotel around 08.00 AM and travel by minibus to Ayuthaya. Upon arrival, visit the archeological site of the once glorious capital destroyed by the Burmese. After lunch at a local restaurant, travel by long-tail boat to Bang Pa In, where you will visit King Rama V’s Summer Palace, which represents a fine example of Thai architecture. Board the Mekhala and start cruising down the Chao Phraya River towards Wat Kai Tia, a temple set in a tranquil rural village. An exquisite candlelight dinner of mouth-watering Thai cuisine is served on the deck. Overnight on board in your air-conditioned cabin.

• MEKHALA – BANGKOK (B/-/-)

DAY 02 After a delicious breakfast on board, cruise down the river to Bangkok, passing spectacular views of the Grand Palace and the Temple of Dawn. Arrive at the Mekhala pier late morning and van transfer to your hotel in Bangkok.
